Upliftment of Women in Red Light Area
We understand the challenges and hardships faced by women living in the red-light areas. As a beacon of hope, Shree Sai Seva Sanstha is dedicated to the upliftment of women in the red-light district of Bhiwandi, Maharashtra.
Our efforts focus on spreading the light of education, raising awareness about their rights, improving their health, and addressing the welfare of their children. We also aim to empower these women by promoting alternative professions, and providing training in tailoring, handicraft production such as making pickles, papad, diyas, candles, and incense sticks.
To address practical needs, at Bhiwandi, we have arranged water pipe connections to alleviate water scarcity issues and built toilets for hygiene maintenance for red light area women.
During the pandemic, when many struggled to access basic necessities, we provided essential ration kits to support them. We also introduced the Sai Sahara Pension for sex workers, offering financial assistance to help them navigate distressing situations and build a path towards a more stable and dignified life.
We are very pleased to share that 4 women have left the red light area and moved forward to build their own life in a prestigious and dignified way.
